Standing on top of the Mountain that is my Goal Weight. What A Sight!

For 10+ years, I was 305 lbs. Last Friday I hit my lifetime goal of 185! I'll be sticking with my caloric intake to lose 1lb for another 2 weeks just to make sure I'm solid at 185 or so. Standing on my scale I pretended I was on top of a mountain I just climbed. Six years ago, I thought all of this was impossible. All of it. After standing on my scale, I thought I'd be satiated, content...I was and am still, not.

Before and After

I want more. I'm at the top of this challenge, only to stare at another, taller, scarier mountain. I've now turned my attention to body fat %. I'm at 20.2% and want to be around 18%.

Thanks to everyone on this sub for the support! I've been obese all my adult life, I've had and still have issues with anger and low self-esteem. I've been in therapy off and on for years and am a proponent of it (if you really want it). Introspective thought has allowed me to see myself as I am and not what I want to pretend to be. Seeing myself, I can be candid and honest without being hurtful to myself and allow self-critique of my actions and thoughts and try new things (if I don't like what I see).

There's this new spiderman into the spiderverse trailer where Peter Parker is teaching a kid who also has his spidey power. Peter says, "One thing I know, don't do it like me...do it like YOU."

In these last 7 months I've learned I'm just a puzzle. I just hadn't figured myself out yet. And the puzzle changes, but that's part of the challenge. It's not about looking at setbacks as failures or putting time limits on how much weight I want to lose. It's about self-care. I've FINALLY found what works for me, right now. That may change and I want to be in a position to change with it. My fitness pal has taught me a lot and I'll still be using it and testing myself to see if I have learned enough about portion control to not need an app anymore but theres no rush.

I don't go to the gym, I don't eat "healthy" (-edit but I do eat well and not much junk food anymore), I don't exercise unless I feel like it.

I've found caloric intake is king for fat loss. I've discovered I LOVE shadowboxing and boxing in virtual reality. Never would I have ever thought I'd love boxing in VR. It just so happened I stumbled upon it and now I can't stop. I started making videos and voice commentary just to learn and grow more!

Please be kind to yourself, challenge yourself to try new things and when you slip, understand you're not going to be perfect. Everyone has to fall sometime, not everyone chooses to get back up.
