Officially not overweight anymore!

Today I hit the magic number that crossed me over the threshold between "overweight" and "ideal". I started at 170lbs and I'm now down to 149. I know a lot of people here have lost a lot more than that, but I'm still super excited about my progress!

It's been a long slog so far of plateaus and distractions, but I'm a little over halfway to my goal weight now. Don't give up! I work a very sedentary job from home and I'm a shortish woman, so it's been tough going, but slow loss is way better than slow gain.

I've had success with making myself a meal plan the day before at night before I go to bed. Having it already charted out keeps me from forgetting as I go or getting lazy -- all I have to do is stick to the plan I already made. It's especially easier if I have some kind of a routine for what I'm eating that week so I can copy and paste meals from day to day instead of having to calculate and log a whole different meal each time.

Oh, and weigh everything, eat off of salad plates and out of side bowls, and order kid's meals when you can out. It sounds crazy, but it's really helped me reset my mental model of what a portion of food is actually supposed to look like. Our portion sizes in the US are SO skewed.
