It's a vicious cycle

My weight loss progress seems to have a stair stepping way of progressing..

  • Lost 25lbs, thought it was amazing I was actually losing weight, then maintained for four months

  • Lost 35lbs (60lbs total), so proud that I got past 50lbs, maintained for another month

  • Lost 10lbs (70lbs total), hit a huge milestone for myself and AGAIN I am slowly falling off the wagon between going out twice this week and now I'm sick.

It gets easier each time I fall off and get back on. I'm disappointed that I now see water retention from two nights of salty Mexican chips and salsa, but it's a necessary process to learn the balance between socializing and a diet. I know that once I'm not sick anymore the first few days eating under 1300cal is going to suck, but I've done this enough times to know that it gets easier

Each time I get further than the last. Over halfway to my "goal weight" and even though I have a long ways to go - 70lbs is a lot to lose damn it. It's all part of long term success.

So if anyone has this stair stepping progress like me, don't give up - just get back on track and keep going. Eventually you'll look back at your current weight and see just how far you've come.
