I went to the gym today for the first time in 3 years.

About 3 years ago, I started dating my SO. Before then, I was walking about 6 miles per day, worked as a server/bartender (lifting ~25lbs per day) and weighed ~130lbs.

As most couples do, you stay in, binge Netflix, order in pizza. SO had a car, so I no longer walked to work. I'm also a huge gamer so I spent my off days gaming in front of the tv.

About a year ago, I got an office job and continued to eat unhealthy, which has lead me to the 200lbs I'm at now. At this point, I haven't walked farther than two blocks in years.

Last Tuesday, I signed up for planet fitness. Unfortunately, a co-worker of mine has been sick so I had to stay late each day and cover for them. I didn't go to the gym.

Today, I'm doing what I typically do on a Sunday night; laying on the couch watching TV while simultaneously browsing /r/loseit and /r/progresspics . It hits me, what am I doing? I could be at the gym right now! So I put on my shoes, grab my headphones and head to the gym.

I turn on my favorite upbeat playlist and I walked 3 miles in a little under an hour. It felt amazing. I forgot how much I love exercising! I seriously can't wait to go to the gym tomorrow. I needed to share my story. I'm feeling very proud.
