Hey, r/loseit. I'm down 45 pounds and it feels good.

Left was taken this past Christmas at my highest weight, right was taken last night.

Hey, team. Good job on all your successes and efforts. I visit this sub multiple times a day to find encouragement, motivation, and knowledge. You're all so wonderful!

I started losing weight after a bonkers number of failed attempts for well over ten years now. I should add a lot of these attempts were pretty ridiculous, unhealthy, and entirely unsustainable. Juicing is not for me. Eating 500 calories per day for WEEKS is not for me. (That was a really bad time.) No refined sugars ever was not for me.

On March 20 I joined a dietbet and haven't looked back since. There have been countless hiccups along the way. I'd have weekends where I would not put a single naturally occurring food item in my mouth, but I always found my way back pretty quickly.

If you don't know what Dietbet is, basically you bet real money you can lose 4% of your weight in a month. I've made over $300 doing it because I join (and win!) a lot of games.

Dietbet has been a huge motivator. I'm a cheap student, so losing money because I like noodles too much just isn't an option. I've cut my junk food and meat intake almost entirely (except those pesky weekends...) and upped my produce intake a lot. I've been drinking boatloads of water and learning to understand what my body needs and when. I don't need to eat if I'm not full. If I think I'm hungry, I drink water. Most times in between meals it's just thirst tricking me.

I hit the gym sometimes, but mostly not. If I do, I tackle the stairmaster. Eek! I used to do really well at going to the gym, but three jobs and a course this summer has made me a bit lazy with it.

I think in the near future I need to start tracking my food. I haven't at all during my journey, but I know it would be beneficial. Especially seeing everyone's successes here with it.

I just wanted to share my progress with this community who helps keep me on track. Keep trucking. You're all so amazing. One day, one hour, one minute at a time, friends!
