So, in spite of a few stutters, I’m still going on the weight loss journey. September last year I was 137kg and today I was 107kg. But most importantly I’m back at the gym for the first time in a couple of decades (apart from a terrible experience a couple of years ago when it was just awful). My 17 year old son was my motivation - he wanted to join a gym and I thought this was the right time to make that brave step. We’ve been going together for a couple of weeks and I’m so happy I took that step.
The trainer we both have is excellent - an older guy who understands my issues (old knee injury, high blood pressure, kidney disease) and has shaped my routine around it. And going a few times a week with my son keeps me accountable and is a great way to spend time with him.
No dramatic conclusion to this, I just feel happy that I’m able to do this without feeling huge and ridiculous.
