SV - Goal Reached!!!!!!!

Well, I did it.

A few pics

After a humiliating moment of getting off-loaded from a rollercoaster because the safety bar wouldn't close, I made I life choice to get my act together and get heathy. When I started, I didn't really know what I was doing, didn't know how much I weighed (the previous July I was 254, but I know I had gained since then, so I pegged my start weight at 260), didn't have a scale (for me or my food), didn't have a goal, didn't take pics, just knew I needed a change.

My only idea was 'no carbs.' So I did that pretty much through the end of the year. Can't say how much I lost, but I was shrinking out of my clothes and starting to feel better. In January, I found this place, and learned about CICO, BMR, MyFitnessPal, and the importance of tracking everything. It took me until mid-February until I finally got around to getting a Nokia Body+ scale, to find out I had dropped to 219. Not bad for a half-baked effort. I followed this up by getting two kitchen scales- one for home and one to keep in my laptop bag. Since then I have been a data junkie, logging everything, keeping records, tracking my progress. I love it. Once I saw 200 was in site, I set a goal of 155. Not sure how I picked it, I suppose I liked the idea of losing over 100 pounds.

I've picked up my physical activity big time. I started running, but age+years of obesity had done a number on my knees and I had to stop. I do lots of walking, HIIT (via YouTube), and jump on an elliptical whenever I'm travelling for work. I travel a lot. Sticking to my eating regimine on the road is a challenge, but I've made it work.

My routine has been on and off intermittent fasting (I usually skip breakfast), and trying to stay around 1200 a day. It's a bit low, but I've not been hungry, my energy levels are great, and I'm not convinced I'm the most accurate of trackers, so I figure I can be a bit low and still be in deficit.

The stats:

Starting: Weight: 260 (est) BMI: 38.38 Jacket Size: 48-50 Trouser Size: 40-42

Today: Weight: 154.2 BMI: 22.8 Jacket Size: 38-40 Trouser Size: 30-32

I'd like to start weight training now that I am at my goal. I'm hoping to apply the same data-rich process I had with my diet to make it successful. But my main concern is maintaining. I've been overweight pretty much my whole life apart from a brief period from 14-16 when I joined the wrestling team. I was a chubby kid, a husky teen, a tubby adult, and a fat middle aged guy. I lost a bit from time-to-time, but I've not been below 200 since my early 20s. I'm hoping I have the knowledge and the will to keep it off.

There are a few things I do everyday. Weigh myself (unless I'm travelling- I stick to my scale), get my steps in, track my food in MFP, and visit /loseit. There is no way I would have made it without this community. I would have plateaued, not known why, gotten frustrated, and gone back to my old ways. My plan is to stick to all of these things during maintenance for a long, long time.

Thanks everyone, couldn't have done it without you.
