We can’t help to want to watch or read about any celebrity as their antics land them in the news. The gossip is juicy, intriguing and unnatural to many outside their world. Celebrities live in the world of excess that few of us will ever know…Yet that does not make them impervious to mental illness.
No, in some cases sadly for many high profile Celebrities would seem to suffer in silence. Only to find out later about how bad they were struggling, how serious things got until it was too late. Robin Williams, Chester Bennington come to mind who died by suicide.
Both used their celebrity to help others and to educate the best they could about the mental health issue facing everyone. But the fact is they too, celebrities, are faced with the same issue.
Money, celebrity, fame, it does not matter–we are all affected. Nevertheless, we can’t give up. Pioneering the way were celebrities like Patty Duke, Carrie Fisher. Celebrities are coming forward to share their stories almost weekly if not daily. Yes, I’m sure you can name a few high profile Celebs (Mariah Carey, Dwayne “the rock” Johnson), right now that have shared their mental health story recently.
This is almost a #ThrowbackThursday Mental Health Humor Cartoon from 2015. Celebrate your bipolar depression and cartoons by Chato Stewart, but today some feel it a bipolar is a superpower.
