Running Issue- help me get out of my own way

Hello all!!!

I have a question for the runners of the group. I have been doing the C210K program and running between 4-6 times per week. So I have been going faster than the program (which is 3 times per week). Last week I started to run outside of my development for a change of scenery. Turns out it is MUCH more hilly than I had really anticipated (my fitbit shows about 15 "flights of stairs" gained after 1-1.5 miles). I was supposed to be running 2.25 miles per the program. I barely made it past 1 mile. I did this run for 3 days thinking I would progress- I didn't. So I went back to running in my development where I had been running two miles no problem. Yesterday when I went to run the 2.25 I couldn't do it!! I would think that the hill running would help with endurance but it has had the opposite effect- I can barely a full mile and have to stop every .5 mile after the first initial mile.

I'm not sure what the issue is. I feel like its all mental- my legs feel fine, its tough to breath but in a way that its tough to breathe after running a mile (I don't feel like I'm short of breath or anything). I will say that I didn't run at my normal time which is either early in the morning before work or immediately after work. I ran around 10am and it was HOT so maybe that's the issue? I just feel very discouraged and frustrated because I know I can run 2 miles without a problem. AND i feel like my progress with the C210K program is not progressing as I was before this past week. Its also frustrating because running is my primary exercise- without it I feel like my weight loss routine is stunted and that is also very discouraging.

Has anyone experienced this or provide some tips for getting past this??
