Okay. Whew. I've been a long time lurker. I thought I'd share my progress.
To the left, we have Glucose Guardian at a whopping 345 pounds.
To the right, we have Glucose Guardian at a still whopping 290 pounds as of today.
I am a 23 year old male, standing at specifically 72.44 inches tall at 290 pounds with a short term goal of 270 and an ultimate goal of 186 pounds.
Now, what worked for me? CICO. I saw this term being thrown around in this subreddit for a while and I took a crack at it. I measured my caloric intake at first and ended up seeing 2600-3000 calories a day. Wow. SO, after going through some personal stuff in my life, I ended up being depressed but ended up seeing my doctor and she gave me guidance. I ended up using my dust covered gym membership and hit that bad boy starting at 2-3 times a week for 30 mins max.
I tell ya. The hardest part of this journey was just getting started.
I also realized that I cannot out run my fork. This is where CICO came into play and became MVP. I restricted my calories gradually to 1500. Now I'm gonna be completely honest, I suck ass in terms of tracking and logging food. But what worked for me is that I can still eat anything I want! Taco Bell, McDs, Checkers etc. (Even though my cholesterol took a hit) and still lose the weight if I kept it in my caloric limits. Greatest thing about these places is that the calories were a lot easier to track cause everything was always the same amount. Awesome. I did this for the first month. However, I know if I wanted to get serious, I need to cook my own meals and eat healthier.
I looked at being vegan.
Best thing ever. I'm not entirely vegan but I made small changes in my diet to accommodate veganism and even though I'm not 100 percent vegan, I'm eating a lot more healthier than I was that first month. I bought fruits, vegan patties, double fiber wheat bread, protein to supplement the loss from no meat. This is where my weight became like the 1930s. I also started extending the time I was at the gym. I went 5-6 times a week for 40 minutes, 50 minutes and now I stay for an hour and a half doing 45 mins cardio and 45 mins weight lifting. I do glute exercises as well as lower legs. This helps A LOT with my cardio.
I'm no fitness expert, I'm no food expert. I'm just a guy trying to get sexy on his own. Hope this post is welcomed.
