Interesting tip from my therapist re: weight loss. Instead of saying “ugh, I’m so horrible for falling off,” say, “Ah, thanks brain, that reminds me to keep going!”

It was one of those truthbombs that literally made me stop and think.

I posted a couple of days ago (Monday maybe?) about how I never seem to stick with it. I’m great for a few days and then fall off, then I think I’m a bad person for quitting.

My therapist and I have been working on self-compassion, because I am VERY prone to being very critical and negative towards myself. So when she told me to look at starting again as a positive reminder, and not a negative judgment, it blew my mind.

And it’s working. I’ve been on track all week so far. Tracked my food on MFP. Might even do some yoga on a DVD.

Hope this helps someone else too!
