With 62 lbs lost, I'm 5 pounds from my original goal and am officially "normal" on the BMI chart. Clothes look better, I'm starting to see some muscle definition in my legs, and overall, I'm so incredibly pleased.
I'm also considering lowering my goal. I know the paper towel theory, but I honestly don't think only 5 more pounds will be enough. 10+ years ago, when this was my weight, I looked pretty good - and quite different from how I look now. Between pregnancy, childbirth, age, and weight gain/loss, my shape has changed significantly, and not for the better. I still have quite a bit of belly fat and getting rid of that is important for many reasons. Since I know I can't spot reduce, looks like I'm practicing CICO at a deficit for a while longer than I'd planned. As an adult, I have never weighed below 120, so I am considering making 120 lbs (BMI 20.6) my new goal, and then trying to focus on putting on a few pounds of muscle.
Fellow losers, how did you know when to enter maintenance? Was it a number goal, either weight or BMI, or did you look in the mirror one day and think, "yep, this is good?" Did you just need a break from it all? I am getting a little fatigued of feeling like I'm in "weight loss mode," and have definitely had a few more maintenance days than usual recently, which has been good for my mental state, but not so good for my progress.
