Im going to a residential facility(USA)

Since graduating high school I've had a really rough time adjusting. My problems did not arise from this just amplified them. I went inpatient last fall for 2 weeks but didn't get much out of it and have since continued to self harm and occasional suicide attempts. My doctor thinks enough is enough and i need more help then the hospital I've been going to can give me. Now I'm in the process of finding out what facilities my insurance covers and which would be the best fit. I'm scared but i know this is for the best. If anyone has been in residential before id like to know your experience. Also If you recommend one to check out and see if it would be a nice fit.
