Calorie deficit vs Keto vs ???

Hi everyone,

I'm M35 and have a bit too much weight on my hips - between 95-98kg (209 - 216 lbs) at 185cm (6'1). While I don't feel terrible about my weight, I would like to lose 10kg (22 pounds).

Intermittent Fasting

I've been doing intermittent fasting Monday-Friday for the past 6 years - I didn't start with any goal, it just became a habit due to busy work. I enjoy a filling dinner and cakes, muffins for dessert. On weekend I like to have a breakfast (eggs, toast) and dinner.

Keto "Journey"

On Monday I decided to try out a Keto diet - it's Thursday evening now and while I can deal with the "Keto Flu" and current cravings, I feel like I won't be able to handle the weekend. I'm just too used to having my treats on the weekend.

Doubts & Thoughts

I'm not sure if my mind is playing games - but I feel like I shouldn't force it, if I feel like it would worsen my life's quality. I defo don't think I can make this a long term habit. I will need to go back to rice and bread at some point.

I've been trying counting calories (yes, even the hidden ones) for some time before - and it was even hard to get even close to the "minimum" with intermittent fasting and I didn't really notice any improvements within 2-3 weeks (mostly just jumping around the 95-98kg).

I wanted to get some perspective - what do you think? Just stick with Keto and push through before I start increasing carbs in 3-4 weeks or just try a new approach with the calorie deficit? Or something entirely different?

Would love to hear your thoughts.
