So, I have a "tradition" of sorts that everytime I visit my parents for christmas I use their old scale and check my weight. Usually I'm around 95-97kg (209-216lbs) and I know that it's a tad to much considering I never worked out properly before. But it hasn't really bothered me, I'm comfortable with the way I look. 192cm (6'3") and my weight, it doesn't really show all that much. But, this time the scale showed 104.1kg (230lbs) and it threw me off. Big time. I've never been above 100kg. Albeit I started working out properly in August so I have put on some muscle and it shows. But I don't want to be a 100kg+ guy. So recently I started going on an caloric deficit. And it has me somewhat confused.
To track my calories I use a kitchen scale to weigh my food, a regular scale to weigh myself, a fitbit and app to track my workouts and foodintake and the app Eat This Much for recipies. According to the data I gathered from the apps my BMR is around 2280 calories per day. My meal planning app has set a goal for me at 2294 calories per day. My fitbit (which I've had for years) says that if my goal is to lose weight I should consume a maximum of 2449 calories. It also says that my average burned calories per day for 2024 was 3263. All these numbers messes with my mind, I want to be on an 500 caloric deficit per day but I'm not shure that I am. I've had my last meal of the day and according to my calculations I've consumed 1641 calories. Which is below my target but I feel full?? It's really weird. It feels like a jungle and I'm just looking for advice on how I should approach this. How do I know for certain that I'm on a deficit? I've only been at it a couple of days.
If it's of any use I'm a 31 year old male on an pescetarian diet and I exercise with intensity three times a week.
