I’m not sure if this post will even make sense, but lately I’ve found myself kind of going back to old habits. I’ve not been as satiated from smaller portions and I’ve been eating more junk. I’ve been going over my caloric goal. There was one day where I ate in a surplus too, but most have been a super small deficit or maintainence. Of course I’ve realized that this has been happening and I have now made a plan to get back to it. However I thought this only happens if your “new diet” is unsustainable—I personally thought the new habits I created were sustainable, so I’m not sure why I’ve been slowly reverting back.
It’s only been a few months since I started changing my eating habits, so sometimes it’s mentally difficult to eat a smaller portion instead of a larger one like I used to. My stomach is satisfied now, and I avoid eating until stuffed now, but my mind isn’t used to it, if that makes sense? I’m having a difficult time changing my mindset around my old habits and new habits.
My scale has kind of remained the same over the past few weeks, hovering around 177-180 lbs. I do get in a lot of activity in and also started lifting recently, so I am assuming it’s the combination of eating more + water weight due to sore muscles.
I am going to get my period in about a week, but this has been happening for a few weeks and not just one week so I don’t think it’s that.
I’ve made so much progress and am not letting that go to waste so I’m really going to make sure to really stick with my target calories for the next few weeks.
How do you guys catch yourselves when this starts happening and get back to it?
