I just bought a kitchen scale and was pretty excited about starting CICO - I generally eyeball calories in my head anyway but I’m not that good at it with certain foods so I thought it would be a good way to educate myself.
But after doing some research about calorie counting, I’m now worried that it could become obsessive, or that I won’t enjoy food as much and be able to just eat intuitively, or that after doing CICO for a while, I won’t be able to ‘un-learn’ calories, which some people have said is an issue for them.
Now I’m not sure whether to go ahead with CICO anymore or to just try something else (eating intuitively works fine... except when I feel like bingeing then it goes out the window and I get off track and find it hard to get back). I know there’s a lot of enthusiasm for it here, but the internet does not seem to be a fan, so I was just looking for some opinions really. If you’ve tried CICO, did it become obsessive or do you enjoy it? Have you had an eating disorder and tried CICO or did you stay away?
Thank you, appreciate the opinions!
