How do y’all use MFP nutrient guidelines?

I go back and forth about whether or not I like MFP... I think it’s great for getting an idea of calorie contents but I am confused by the nutrient guidelines because I don’t know what they’re based on and I imagine everyone feels their best at varying levels of certain nutrients?

How do you all use the nutrient part of MFP? Do you pay attention to it? Do you adjust it to your lifestyle like paleo/keto/plant-based?

Right now I aim for the protein goal but I don’t worry too much if I go over the fat as long as it’s healthy fats (olives/nuts/seeds). I eat a lot of fruit so I always feel weird when it says I’ve gone over my sugar recommendation when it’s natural sugar..?
