My OMAD/IF 4 month Progress from 174lbs-149. Believe it or not I'm just as strong in the second pic! Definitely different goals than many on this sub, but I think this highlights how effective fasting can be at muscle retention, even at a deficit!

I kept it at around 2k calories per meal, and apart from making sure my protein intake was adequate, I ate whatever the heck I wanted. Moving back to smaller meals throughout the day, but I do miss my pizza and ice-cream dinners.

I don't think fasting is necessary to achieve weight-loss goals, but in my experience it was convenient because:

  1. Once your body gets used to it, you don't really get hunger cravings until mealtime.
  2. Anecdotal, but I have definitely felt more energy/focus during workouts/outings.
  3. Didn't feel the need to restrict food choices, could eat what I wanted during my meal.
