Rant: Why are people telling each other that gaining weight is the right thing during the lockdown?!

I feel like every day I see more and more articles about the 'quareninte 15', the suposed weight that the majoirty of people are gaining on lockdown. The articles don't talk about how to avoid this, but how to accept this as part of living through these chaotic times. Most of the articles encourage intuitive eating, having comfort foods, not judging yourself for gaining weight, and just 'accepting' what your body needs to get through these tough times.

I don't understand that mindset at all. What better time to get in shape? I'm at home and can't be distracted by fast food, I have time to plan out my meals and meal prep, and have time to workout. The average person has more time now than ever to invest in themselves, and I don't know why encouraging that seems to be frowned upon at the moment. I have worked out more then ever in the last 6 weeks and am loving it. I wish we could be encouraging each other to be more healthy in the world, as opposed to assuming you can't do anything at the moment other then binge watch Netflix and snack all day.
