I'm not happy, and I want to change that.

I'm a 34, about 5f8i and I am up to around 230#. I work full as an ER nurse, I'm a father to two great kids, and my beautiful wife is pregnant with our third. Life is great, but I'm not happy. Three days a week I'm with my kids while my wife (also a nurse) works.

This is the heaviest I've ever been in my life. I understand that we change with time; habits evolve, life gets busy, metabolism changes - but here I am. I've tried using myfitnesspal, it worked for a while. I tried weight watchers, but ultimately paying 20$ a month for their app wasn't worth it to me.

COVID started and it's been my scapegoat for a significant weight gain over the past few month. I recognize that I'm slowly hurting myself physically and emotionally - but I don't know how to stop it.

I've heard of people having success with paleo or keto. The weather is finally nice enough that I can start doing physical activity outside.

What advice (if any) can you offer for someone looking for guidance. I need a point in the right direction. Tomorrow is a new day. I appreciate all of you.
