Some people never really eat while stoned but I am not one of those people. Many years ago I wound up gaining 50 lbs in a few months because I was smoking (and eating) every Friday and Saturday night. I quit smoking and lost most of the weight and kept it off for a long time, but I'm now trying to lose another 20 lbs, but I don't want to give up smoking either. So here are a couple of things I have figured out to be able to do both:
1) Intermittent fasting: I have learned the hard way that I can never plan to have "just a little bit" to eat after smoking and stick to it. A little bit always turns into a lot. Even if I set aside low calorie snacks to eat, I usually wind up finding more to eat that is not low calorie. I am now doing IF and i finish eating for the day before I ever light up. That way I don't have to try to stem the flow of eating because I never start.
2) Engage your senses: I have found that I enjoy eating while high because being high enhances sensory experiences and makes them more enjoyable. I've also noticed that sometimes I don't eat anything and when that is the case it's always because I am doing something else that I got immersed in. Like just laying on the couch listening to music and getting really engrossed in the emotion and artistry of it. Or having sex. Or drawing, or coloring in mandalas. Or petting my cat until he gets tired of me. If the weather is nice, going for a walk is fun too. So try to find something else really enjoyable and do that instead. I try not to watch tv or movies because I have a mental association of eating while doing that, personally. But anything else is fair game.
