The first few days (and weeks too!) are so hard... how did you get yourself started, and how did you stay on track?!

My weight has been up and down for a while now. It's time to get serious. Every time I have lost weight, I approached it differently, but mostly by counting calories. The biggest issue I am having is staying on track when I count my calories! I do it at the beginning of the day, but as the day goes on? Nope, I'm too busy and forget or eat things that have an uncertain amount of calories, so I just give up and let myself eat whatever. It is a self control issue clearly.

How did you maintain focus and keep going at the beginning, when it is SO hard!? And how did you get started in general?

Thanks guys! This community is so awesome.
