One year, one less husband and 75 pounds later... (310 to 235) 37F

Hey loseit. You guys are amazing.

I’ve been overweight my entire adult life and after a stressful six years of marriage with addiction and rehab cycles, I left him and realized what all that stress had done to me. I ate my way up to 310 pounds with a sedentary lifestyle and a bunch of fast food.

Over the last year, I’ve done very little other than not always eating the worst thing on the menu and taking walks every once in a while. It’s time to kick it into high gear, and I’m celebrating because the first photos of after the breakup were taken at an annual charity event.

The event was yesterday and the difference is staggering: progress photo one year apart

In addition to the little things, like being able to fit in an airplane seat and kudos from my friends, the difference in dating has been HUGE.

When I first started trying to meet people, my conversations were almost exclusively with men who fetishized my size. Over the year, now I meet with people who don’t mind it and I get a lot of kudos for my journey thus far. I’m still working on it, but now really fit guys (who are a better match for my lifestyle now that I’m healthy) are taking notice and cheering me on too. It feels so good and is so motivating!

Yes, I still have 95 pounds to go and have upped my game accordingly. But you guys... I’m almost thin enough to skydive!
