I was around 315lbs (36M) at the beginning of the year and in March I decided I was done being obese and out of shape so I started walking daily and counting calories with a daily max of 1200-1300. Started off just going around my block and slowly upped it to walking a few miles a day.
Towards the end of April I decided to get a gym membership for the first time in my life. Today was the 85th straight day I've gone to the gym and a lot of changes have occured, and not just the physical ones.
I started off working out for only 30 minutes a day on the elliptical at an average of 4mph which about killed me. I now spend 75 minutes circuit training on weight machines with a 45 minute elliptical run at an average 7.5mph to end my workout 6 days a week with a rest day consisting of a 30 minute elliptical run at 6mph (which is easy for me)
Now obviously my fitness level is at a high level now and I am in the 220s for the first time since middle school but what I didn't realize would happen would be mental changes. My decades long depression is gone, I sleep better and it's easier for me to focus. While I'm still a ways away from my goal weight of 180 this is a way of life that I'll stick with forever.
