Over 1.5 years I lost 28 pounds with CICO. It was pretty easy to stay in my calorie range. Then I started doing more strength training and over the next 1.5 years, I’ve gained 3 pounds (with a lot of ups and downs). I’m getting stronger and my measurements have shrunk, and I’m happy to have more muscle, but I’m supposed to still be losing.
I’m not sure why sticking to my calorie range has gotten so hard, unless strength training increases my appetite. Does it have that affect on others?
If it’s not an appetite increase, then maybe it’s psychological, because I want to get stronger and that’s difficult/impossible on a deficit. Except that my goals are for bodyweight strength exercises like pull-ups which would be easier with less of me to pull up.
(I’ve checked macros and drunk water. I’m not new to working out, just changed my focus a bit. It’s not a logging issue, I know I log a surplus most days.)
