To those who haven’t seen my other post a month ago (more than likely most haven’t), I hit my goal weight of 185. Amid moving off campus, upping the number of work hours, increased quality of food, and stress reduction from having my own space, I have trickled down to 177.
I’d estimate I take in around 14-1700 cals a day, and I now work upwards of 40 hours a week compared to 25-30 a couple months or so ago. I also don’t touch the hot food rack at work more than once a week. I walk probably well over 5 miles a shift and do a great deal of heavy lifting. I feel like I got hit by a bus at the end of some shifts. I haven’t made drastic changes from my prior post, but I no longer log and only ensure I limit high sodium foods and indulgences.
I was excited about the changes in my life and mentioned I lost more weight to a coworker, and I got a snappy “why?” and said I needed to eat more. Never mind I’m almost never hungry and equally rarely uncomfortably full with how I eat. She herself is quite heavy (maybe 5’6-7 and north of 230 I’d estimate) and eats our hot food in large portions multiple times daily. It’s a wonder that doctors say her blood work is normal because I’d be almost her size and have sky high blood pressure if I ate the same way!
But I’m unsure of where to go next, guys. I still have a little bit of a belly, and I badly want to join a gym, but cost and time make it incredibly difficult being a full time student with work. Also, my job tires me out and keeps me on my feet for upwards of 10 hours a day on top of all this. At the same time, I’m getting comments that I’m too skinny. I don’t think I am, I’m still on the upper end of a normal BMI, and I’m still carrying around a touch of excess weight. As of now, I’m planning to lose another 7-10 lbs of fat and this summer attempt to get an exercise regime going outside of work and perhaps get more muscle. Thoughts?
