Not really a NSV, more like a "mental NSV" I guess? Willpower victory? WPV?
I started CICO and stopped binging in January, and everything is great. I'm down 34 pounds and I've lowered my goal weight to something unthinkable 6 months ago, but totally achievable now.
Something funny happened last night: I was cleaning out the fridge to make room for some groceries, and I had to throw away a couple pieces of yummy NYC pizza and a couple tubs of ice cream (for my kids) that had a few scoops left in the bottom. They had all sat in the fridge long enough that they weren't viable anymore.
This has NEVER happened before. For the last 30 years, if there was EVER pizza or ice cream in the fridge, it would ALWAYS get finished off, usually by me.
I didn't throw it away becasue I was trying to protect myself from the temptation.
I didn't throw it away as a shameful reaction to a binge.
I just threw it away because nobody was gonna eat it.
If you stick to your guns and avoid sweet and salty foods, the cravings for them eventually subside or go away entirely.
So here's to a first-time-ever willpower victory!
