I tried skipping lunches and learnt that I really shouldn't

So, last week I was on vacation, and I ate a lot more than I should have. Me being me, I thought: "well if I can manage a week at 1200, I'll be back on track in a week!"

Now, keep in mind that I'm a 28yo male, going to the gym twice a week and this week I biked 15 km to work every single day. 1200 is "not enough", to put it mildly.

After 4 days skipping lunch, the assessment is: it's a very stupid idea. I spent 4 days feeling miserable, unfocused, and thinking about food constantly. When I finally went home, how good do you think I have been at portion control? So I ended up starving the whole day and overeating at night feeling bloated and too full.

The real kicker is that by eating too much at night I still averaged exactly my regular goal, except that I was way more miserable than if I had eaten it throughout the day. And that I was too weak to go the gym.

So yeah. Eat regularly and be patient, punishing yourself is not only wrong but plain counterproductive.
