I love my wife but sometimes it's so hard to be motivated when someone is a downer, I don't know what to say or do at this point.

So I am officially back after a 6 month hiatus with our son being born (4th and final kiddo) and I was pretty fucking proud of myself that I only gained 10 lbs just off being very conscious of what I was eating. Well over the last week I was saying how I was planning to get back at it after we celebrated my birthday. Today is that day, so I am back at it tracking everything in MFP again and my wife in all her wonderfulness bless her heart I love her to death asks me "What do you want for dinner" I started googling some recipes for ideas that I thought would work for both of us because she has been trying really hard to lose weight and getting very frustrated that she isn't losing weight. (Her doctor straight up told her that "Some people are just meant to be overweight" I went in and chewed his ass out at my next appt) She has been working out but not tracking calories which is a whole different beast to talk to her about.

Anyways, I send her some recipes that were very simple, not time consuming, trying to make it simple cause she usually tries to fix dinner for the family and have it ready by around 6pm so I thought these recipes would be really easy and she would be willing to eat them cause she is extremely picky. I sent her about 20 different recipe ideas based off what she said we had in the pantry and what she would be willing to eat. Then she proceeds to tell me how gross they all look and how she wishes she wasn't a picky eater and I almost lost it! I am typically a very rational person but I do not understand how someone that wants to lose weight refuses to eat healthy and feels like they need to bitch about not losing weight constantly, it's depressing and frustrating. I have tried sitting her down and talking to her about the importance of CICO and she just says "It sets me up for failure, I don't like tracking calories" I tried to reason with her and she just got upset and said portion control is what works best for her so I said "Okay" and we ordered beachbody containers for her to portion. Does she do that? Fuck no.

Back on topic sorry, I begin to just tell her that forget it and I will make my own dinner (Because I get tired of fights and how fucking nit picky she is about recipes I send and it's just not worth the fight.) She proceeds to tell me how she will find a recipe that she wants even though she doesn't have time because the kids are fighting and she just has no motivation. This shit gets so depressing to hear all the time. I really really struggle with people when they say they want to do something or say they will change something and do the exact same thing. Somehow my wife thinks that eating shit but oh she added in some exercise will make her lose weight. Then when I want to get back on CICO she bitches about every healthy recipe I send her. I am just fucking over it. I can't talk to my wife about it because she will just get all offended and sad I said anything about how much pure shit she eats (Potato chips and chocolate) and how she doesn't even make an effort to branch out of her EXTREMELY narrow set of foods she is willing to eat. Yet she bitches about how she wishes she would eat more healthy all the time.

To end my long rant, fuck it, I don't care anymore, I am sticking to CICO and I am just going to cook my own meals and do my own fucking thing. I am going to lose this weight and I am going to live a healthy life. It just would be nice to feel like my wife gave 2 shits about her body, maybe she wouldn't feel so tired and ornery all day every day.

I just figured I would come here because everyone has been so supportive and awesome and sometimes I just need to release a little bit and I know I can't vent to my wife about it that's for certain. I just wish I felt like more people were in my corner in real life with wanting to be healthier.
