How to create an objectively fair fat loss challenge

I am trying to figure out how to make a fair fat loss challenge between myself and a classmate.

I am male, 5'10, 246 lbs, and 31% bodyfat according to a bodpod reading. He's taller and lighter than me, and is probably around 25% bodyfat (He's getting his bodpod done this week).

My question is how to we make a fair fat loss challenge? It's going to be easier for me to lose bodyfat since I have a higher %, right? Even proportionally, for me to go from 30%-20% would probably be easier than him going from 24% to 16%. Is there a way to make this more fair, or am i overcomplicating this?

The stakes of the bet are high, and he's a good friend. I don't want him to have any excuses in December when I utterly decimate him.
