I've been going to the gym 3x a week for about 6 months now. I was so proud of myself last week for going even when I'm tired and it's never an internal struggle, it's just the routine. Even over Christmas at my parents' I worked out as best I could. I'm adding light bodyweight stuff at home on my "off" days and my gym just started once a week yoga that I'm going to add too. A coworker commented on how healthy and delicious my lunches look lately.
Then today happened. I don't know why but on my way home from work I had to talk myself into going to the gym. Something that hasn't happened in a few months. But it's always better once you get started, right? Not today. My normal 20min intervals on the arc trainer became 8mins of intervals and 11 min of just slowly forcing myself to move. I skipped all my weights, did my sit ups and dead bugs and went home. Where I was short with my husband and ate too many Tootsie rolls. I'm letting myself make comfort food for dinner.
Tomorrow will be better. I can't let this derail me. Just yesterday I was wishing I'd had taken starting photos because I feel so much better and I'd like to see how far I've come. Tomorrow before work is body weight, it's all I'll have time for. But I think a planned easy day after an unexpected hard one is ok. I can do this.
