First Post. Want to lose it.

I just weighed myself and I am almost 250 lbs. I want to lose weight and I have tried in the past, but, every time I have failed. I used to hover around 230 lbs, relatively stable, in a sedentary lifestyle. When I tried to lose weight, I mainly tried to get a workout going and to limit my food intake, however, I always lose the motivation to continue or the willpower to continue, lasting at most 3-4 weeks. Hence, why I am here, hoping for this sub to be a motivational source.

When it comes to managing my intake it is more of a question of what I should avoid. I know I should avoid sugars, I think I should avoid bread's and other starches, and primarily have meats, vegetables, and fruits. Fats, however, I am fine with? I thought fats were not ok. If they are not this will be an issue, I love my dairy, cheese and cream, Alfredo and other cream sauce pasta's, as well as potatoes.

So my plan is to manage my intake, completely (over a couple of weeks) cut my sugar, and do a 20-minute walk 5 days a week.

I really hope I can succeed in this, cheers, and thanks for reading.
