You think I don't know that? Of course I am, by now, well aware I do not have to stuff my face with a large slice of the cake you just bought. Cake of which you would have one slice and leave the rest to grow mold, if I didn't allow my cravings to win against my better judgment.
Why can't you support my efforts and just not buy the cake? Or the cookies? Or all the other stuff you know I binge and you don't like? It makes me feel as though you are sabotaging my efforts, now that I am finally making a change for myself. Now that I'm a pant size down and my facial features are more prominent and I feel better in all sorts of senses.
But I come home in the evening and I complete my schoolwork and where there would be a nice watermelon wedge on my plate as a snack is a fat slice of cake.
Maybe if it were just once in a blue moon, I would not complain. I tell you this, but you don't listen. I ask you not to overfill the fridge and stack this Corner of Carbs but "you don't have to eat it" is all I get. And yet you know very well I have an issue with temptation, one I am trying to work on. I have communicated this to you. I don't even think you were listening.
No matter. I'll push myself for these last few months, take a walk when that cake is extra enticing in the evening. I'll be off to college in the fall, where I'll have more control and be more accountable for my eating. I plan to shed my freshman 15. I'll lead a healthier life. I'll do far better than I have here.
