Woke up in onederland

30F/5’3”/Highest Pregnancy Weight: 233 lbs 4week postpartum weight: 215 lbs CW:199.3 lbs GW: 140 lbs UGW: 130 lbs

I started in January after I got the all clear from my OB. I’ve been tracking food using the LoseIt app and water using Waterlogged.

In January, I focused on cutting out liquid calories and increasing my water intake. This helps keep my appetite under control and seems to be helping with water retention.

In February, I focused on swapping out a lot of processed snack options with more fruit.

This month has been all about getting the appropriate serving of vegetables. I swapped things like chips and crackers with crispy fresh vegetables.

My clothes are looser. My stomach has flattened a bit, but the best part of all is that my depression has completely vanished. In January I was referred to behavioral health for evaluation by both my son’s pediatrician AND my OB. As of now, I’m doing great. I’m still in therapy (was not put on meds), but I really think cleaning up my diet has been a critical part of my recovery.

My exercise habit was a bit harder to get into. I started by trying to close my movement ring in my Apple Watch everyday, but it was getting harder to fit in a walk with the weather being inconsistent and my kids made it a bit difficult to fit in a workout video since we live in a small apartment and they didn’t seem to be too fearful of accidentally getting kicked in the head with my awkward fitness dance moves.

Well I recently decided to just focus on getting ten thousand steps. I pave the apartment with my 3-month-old. I also ordered a rebounder to set down and march on (sort of like an elliptical motion) 10 minutes here and ten minutes there throughout the day.

My husband has a weight set taking up space in what should be a dining room that I’m learning my way around. I’ve always had terrible upper body strength, so I’m intrigued by the idea of one day being able to lift his heavy weights.

I’ve spent my life telling myself I can’t do this or I can’t do that. I told myself I couldn’t deliver a child without medication. In December, I did...not on purpose, but I survived and it wasn’t at all as bad as I thought it would be. This sent me into self-reflection about all the things I tell myself I can’t do...I can’t lift weights, I can’t run, I can’t lose weight right now, etc. I resolved to spend the rest of my 30s proving myself wrong. I can’t do those things...YET. I can take baby steps to get there though.

Anyway, I really excited to leave 200 lbs behind and never look back. I’m really excited about my new habits, and I want to thank this community for inspiring me to do this the healthy way this time around.
