Lately, I’ve been super frustrated with myself because I’ve been eating at maintenance every couple of days. I’m really struggling with 1300 calories, which is what I need to lose to one pound per week without exercise. I’m pretty happy at 1600 calories per day, and on average that’s where I’ve been ending up. So, instead of losing 1-2 pounds per week, I’m averaging about 1/2 a pound to 3/4 of a pound.
This is Fine.
1) I’m not gaining weight. I’m still losing. 2) It still adds up over time. I had a meeting in Europe in September. I’m going back to Europe next week to meet with the same people. In the past 6 months, I’ve lost roughly 25 pounds. That’s not nothing. I’ll take 25 pounds in 6 months. It’s better than the alternative.
I’ve got to stop comparing myself to people who lose 100 pounds in a year or whatever. They aren’t on my journey. I’m doing what I can do and it is enough. Losing slowly is enough.
