hey guys, I hope to get some advise on diet/exercise from this post. Please feel free to critique but don't hesitate to comment. I am well over 40, so not in my prime but from last 1 year or so, I have taken a fancy to lifting weights. I go to gym 4 to 5 times a week, do combination of exercises and put in some cardio here and there. I don't do heavy shoulders or shall I say, I don't do shoulders at all because of various shoulder injuries from my younger days, don't forget I was young once. Here's the problem; my lower belly fat doesn't seem to go away. I was 198lb when I started and now I am 189lb but the lower belly doesn't seem to have made much progress, there is progress but it isn't what I was hoping. Here is what I eat in a day;
Breakfast
50gm smoked fish
2 cups eag whites
low calorie protein shake
Pre Workout
low calorie protien shake
Post Workout
1 cup brown rice
7oz sometimes 7.5oz boiled chicken
1 cup green veggies
Snack
protien bar or protien shake
fruits usually either an apple or a banana
few nuts
Dinner
1 cup brown rice
6.5oz boiled chicken or beef
1 cup green veggies
That roughly totals up to 2300 -2500cals. Am I eating too much? If I eat less than that then I start to loose whatever I have gained, muscle mass and start to look small.
NOTE: I will occasionally, have a burger WITHOUT french fries or Low Carb bread with loads of peanut butter. No sodas, diet or otherwise, over a gallon of water a day. Sweet tooth craving, anything with stevia or low carb ice cream.
I do take multi vitamins and joint support with meals. Now, I walk a lot, from station to work and back and then from station to home. If I don't do cardio at gym, I easily burn 500 cals just by walking. If I do cardio, like running or elliptical in gym then I burn over 1000 cals in a day.
The sides on my waist are better but the front portion is stretchy and fatty when I hold it. Also when I sit, I feel it like a fold. How can I get rid of it or if its not possible due to age, body composition etc. then how can I get it to tighten up a bit.
Can I get some help please?
