I was round at a friend's house last night and they had bought a MASSIVE carrier bag of snacks/sweets etc, laying out on the table in the room we'd be in for the evening.
I've been pretty successful with resisting during situations like this, but simply put, the volume of shitty food was just too alluring. It was by no means the worst binge I've had. Pre losing 50 pounds I would have smashed at least 2 tubes of pringles and a Chinese takeaway and chocolate on top of that, but I still definitely overindulged.
Having put in all the hard work to lose the weight in the first place, I don't want to make this a regular thing and gain it all back again, especially as I'm nearly at my goal weight. It makes me wonder if I should go back to calorie counting, because I'd usually budget calories for going out with friends - but I stopped because it just became too mentally draining and seemed a bit obsessive.
Anyone have any tips that might work in situations like this, where just leaving the room just isn't an option?
