How do you combat depression and keep the motivation to lose weight?

I recently got diagnosed with depression. I’ve had it before so I wasn’t surprised and I’m not really sure how I got better last time (no meds, I lived with parents at the time who were against them, and I was in my early teens. I went from severely suicidal for years at a time to almost totally fine over the course of 5 months. Still perplexed). I’m in therapy, living on my own now, and considering trying antidepressants this time around, so my question isn’t related to how get better.

My question is for people who struggle with depression that wipes away all your drive - how do you push through to lose the weight? I know part of it stems from how I look and I want to change but I also can hardly get out of bed in the morning. All of my focus goes towards my classes and grades, there’s hardly any left over.

Any advice from people who have experienced this?
