Hey, I'm new

So I'm Sophia, 17, 5'8, NJ born and raised. ( SW : 287 CW: 283 GW: 250 UGW: 160 ) I apologize if I post this wrong or something because I'm pretty new to reddit but i really heard that this community had great advice for what I'm trying to do For most of my life I have been obese. Even when I looked skinny my BMI has always been obese. I have very little self control and due to mental health I've spent a lot of time indoors either sleeping or writing. Not a lot of exercise in my daily routine, but recently ive been walking two miles a day, sometimes 4. I have a huge issue with weight gain but I'm trying my best to set small goals so that I can reach my ultimate goal weight, (which is the weight my doctor has recommended for me) I was wondering if anyone can give me some tips or diets/workout routines that worked for them? I can't really afford anything like weight watchers but anything thats less price-involved I'd really appreciate. Thank you
