Does the world have a problem with portion control?

On my lose it journey and first things off the bat I've come up against is portion size

What I eat isn't bad, it's about 85-87% healthy and clean and the rest is treats mostly around my cycle

But I eat alot of it. Somewhere I got the message that I need to consume THAT much food to function when it seems like I don't.

My weight gain is mostly from exam where I feel like I need to gorge on food to feed my brain. Still today there's the 'feed the brain's by having like what I'm realising maybe double portions of everything?

But I'm not alone, restaurants and pictures of food just show heaps and heaps of food... Wait I'm not suppose to eat that much /meal?

My brain is struggling with it. How do you go around not being hungry?
