The past few weeks I’ve slowly been letting my average calorie count for the day creep up. Started averaging 1200, then 1300, now I’m at 1400 per day. I still weigh/ track everything at least, but I’m disappointed in myself for letting it happen. Supposedly this is still below my TDEE but my scale has me hovering around the same weight. Originally I thought it was a plateau but it’s more likely that I am eating closer to my maintenance and my TDEE is just lower than I thought. I think part of it is because my workout intensity has been increasing, so I’m constantly hungry. I’ve been lifting heavier weights and running longer (attempting to train for a half marathon, so I ran 8 miles yesterday & burned ~900 calories but ate ~1700 so my deficit wasn’t as good as it could have been). Anyway, just wanted to post here to hopefully get some motivation and maybe some tips to suppress my appetite a little bit. Today I’m going to make sure I drink half a bottle of water before eating to make sure I’m actually hungry, eat more slowly, try chewing some gum, and I’ll brush my teeth right after dinner to stop any evening snacking. Does anyone have any suggestions for what else I could try?
