Actually trying now

So I just had my annual Physical Exam. Good news is all my labs are good. (Yay me) bad news is I've slowly been gaining weight over the last few years. I thought that last year, by eliminated a couple of sodas a day would get things to either stabilize or even see a sleight weight reduction. But this visit shot that right to heck.

Things not going for me the past year: I'm under a lot of stress as a caretaker for my mother, and my eldest uncle passed away beginning of the year. That said. I can't use those as excuses for not losing the weight. So I'm now actively trying to lose some weight.

I'm counting the calories, and 6 days in I'm doing good. under 1500 calories each day except for Thursday. Had lunch with the wife, so considering that my 'cheat' day. I'm also hoping to start exercising tomorrow. (A half hour walk around the block) I'm not being crazy and eliminating the foods I enjoy, but rather just trying to reduce my consumption of those foods. I have gone and purchased some lower calorie snacks, and am swapping a couple things out. I'm still getting used to this and so am hungry a bit more often, but trying to drink more water to keep that in check.

I'm trying to be realistic and hoping for a pound a week (A kilo every other week) but will take what I can get. I'll check in from time to time, and keep you posted. (poke me if I slip and keep me honest)

Thanks for reading this, and I hope everyone out there is having a great week with their own goals!

Good luck to us all!
