Sooo we didn't lose as much weight as we wanted to, and if we're being honest, most of it happened in the last couple of weeks after a pretty rocky start. All those things we said we'd do? Ha! Didn't exactly happen. We started off tracking in MFP, going to the gym, and actively making healthier meal choices... but then we fell back into old habits.
In fact, our habits may have even become slightly worse at times. There was this one evening where we ordered McDonalds delivery, and they sent us the wrong order and gave us the option to get a full refund or get it redelivered. Or course, we decided to get it redelivered to us, and ended up eating two McDonalds meals each in the space of 30 minutes. Definitely not our proudest moment!
And we should probably also come clean that as soon as we took our pictures this morning, we ate two bowls of cereal, some Tim Tams, and an ice cream cone each (it was 9am). But hey, it's February now. New month, new us, right?!
At the very least, our weight has still moved in the right direction, which we're obviously happy about. We gave up on counting calories (which we know isn't great) but have instead been focusing on intermittent fasting. We noticed a pattern in that we were eating well during the day and then binging in the evenings on junk food. With IF, we allow ourselves to eat whatever we want, but as we only have a limited eating window (between 1 to 4 hours, generally), the damage we can do is more limited. Our problem has always been consistency and wanting what we can't have, so knowing that we can eat a burger everyday if we wanted to has really helped diminish the craving to eat a burger ~right now~, and reduced our tendency to binge on junk after having a relatively healthy day as we just incorporate whatever we want to eat into our eating window to begin with.
We're going to keep this up through February and hopefully see some more consistent results. We'll see you all again on the 1st of March!
