I am new to reddit and I could really use all your help. I am 5'3 ...178lb ...50 year old female.
I have not eaten any meat for 30 years and my diet is way too high in carbs.
Previously, my weight often fluctuated between 175 and 178. I decided I needed to get down to a healthier weight.
Three weeks ago I started daily intermittent fasting (19hr a day....usually eat noon till 5pm). I began working out with a trainer 1.5 hours twice a week in a pool. I use weights, do resistance exercise, and swim laps. I have had double knee replacements and the pool makes workouts tolerable.
I have decreased my caloric intake....generally down to around 1300 calories a day.
With these changes I initially gained 2 lb! then my weight went back to where I started and hasn't nudged. I don't know what to do! soooooo frustrated and want to give up on it! I want to see results esp with the changes I have made.
my husband believes it's linked to my high intake of carbs/ sugar and low intake of protein but that has ALWAYS been how I eat....for years. So it seems since i decreasef my usual intake, increased workout and am religiously fasting I should see some change.
please help!!!!!!
