I’m F 5’3” and my highest / starting weight was 205 on December 28th and I’m currently down to 195. My goal weight is 140, however once I’m there I’ll reevaluate and decide if I need to lose another 10 or so. I believe 140 is at the high end of the healthy range for my height. My goal is to make this a lifestyle change so my daily calorie count is also the TDEE for my goal weight with a sedentary lifestyle. With my weight and activity level I seem to be burning 2200-2400 daily according to TDEE. My Fitbit also confirms this.
Tools: I’ve been using a Fitbit charge 3 and the Fitbit app to log calories, activity and water. I also have the RENPHO scale and use the app with it. It syncs with the Fitbit app for weight and body fat %. My body fat % was higher when calculated at the gym, but it’s good for the general trend. Weight is accurate. I’ve also been measuring and weighing everything with a food scale.
Daily Calories: 1600; which the exception of a weekly date night which can fluctuate between 1800-2000 calories.
Diet: I’ve been doing CICO however I’ve been a vegetarian for 9 years. I always tell myself that if I can cut out meat and stick to it then surely I can cut out the junk and make it a permanent lifestyle change too.
Activity: I’ve been spending 5 days per week at the gym. I do 20 minutes of cardio, then 20-30 minutes of mat exercises and then 5-10 minutes of stretches. I’m hoping to up the intensity month by month and add weights. This month I’m using my body weight as I get used to the movements. In the spring/summer I’d like to switch things up and go biking and hiking more.
Highlights:
-
I’ve been logging my water intake and aiming for 2L per day. My skin seems much clearer!
-
Have been at the gym for 2 weeks now, at first my weight stayed put even though inches were still dropping (water weight I assume), but just this morning I dropped 3 stubborn pounds!
-
Clothes are fitting better and feel less snug
-
Cheeks seem more defined
-
I’m able to do cardio without feeling like I’m dying
-
The mat exercises feel more controlled now.
