I'm 195cm (6'5") and 130kg (290lbs). My frame is large, so my ideal weight is in the neighborhood of 100kg (220lbs).
That is 70 pounds of unnecessary weight I'm carting around. That is 245,000 calories stockpiled around my body. I burn approximately 2500 calories per day just living my life (not counting any deliberate exercise or working-out). That is 98 days of not-eating that I can survive before I start to be underweight.
My solution:
Intermittent fasting for 24 hours at a time, followed by 6-8 hours of regular meals. Each 24 hour period is 2500 calories. I'm going to round up and fast 100 days (non-consecutively). That should consume my 245k calorie stockpile of fat-energy.
The advantage to this is that after coming off a fast, whatever healthy food I would normally turn-up my nose to suddenly becomes ambrosia of the gods. Granny smith apples, oatmeal, kale, whatever. It's fucking delicious if you haven't eaten in 24 hours, no need to get pizza to scratch that itch. I am in the middle of my second 24 hour period right now 100, 99, 98, 97....
After you get past the cravings and irritability (usually 8+ hours in), its comfortable, light, and energetic. My mind is clearer and I have more energy than I normally do.
I want to do this. I'm going to do this. I just needed to publicly declare this and this seems like the most appropriate sub to do it. I've never even lurked in this sub before this, so excuse me barging through the door and soapboxing about myself. I quit trees last year, this is my next demon to slay. It's happening.
Thank you for your time.
