Oof, I never thought I’d be excited to be overweight. I was always a chubby kid growing up, but in high school I started to turn that around did kickboxing and got into decent shape. And then I got depressed, no incident caused this, depression runs in my family and it hit me like a fucking train.
I got on antidepressants that were absolutely wrong for me, and I gained weight. I can’t blame just the antidepressants though, I had a problem with overeating and then throwing up. After a few months I stoped taking any antidepressants medication. And unmedicated I was still gaining weight, but at a slower pace.
In August I got put on an antidepressant that works for me, and I defiantly improved mood wise and I got my eating under control. But I still wasn’t actively trying to lose weight.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t really notice the weight gain, I hate to sound like one of “those” people but I really did wear it well, I didn’t get a double chin and I was well proportioned. But mid September of last year(2018) I stepped on the scale and it was 225, I can’t believe I let it get to that point. I decided I didn’t want to be that way anymore.
Long story short I’m now at 183, and as a 5’5 female, all I need to do is get to 179 to no longer be classified as obese. I’m so excited, it’s been a journey but I’m slowly undoing the damage that I did to myself. And reading so many success story’s on this thread has definitely helped me stay on track.
I’m not stopping here, I’m gonna go until I’m healthy. I’m gonna go until I can look at myself and like what I see. See you all at the next milestone!
