Hi team Euro accountability, we did it, we made it to the end of the month AND the year! Congratulations everyone on your hard work. Thanks for our participation, you've all made it a fun and productive year on this challenge!
Since it's the end of the year, I though it would be fun to look at some data about the challenge for 2018.
- This year, we had 3 hosts: u/glimmerousdream, myself, and u/Oityouthere
- Percent upvoted: Posts were upvoted 63-100% with an average of 88%
- Number of participants each day: 2-28 with an average of 10.82
- Number of comments each day: 5-200, with an average of 42.11
- Average number of comments per person per day: 3.76
I made a bunch of plots and wrote a bit about them here. They're kind hard to see on Imgur. Nothing particularly surprising, there are usually more participants at the start of the month and then the number drops off over time. The number of comments is strongly dependent on the number of participants. It would be interesting to look at more stuff but I'll save that for next year!
Now onto your accomplishments- it's monthly retrospective time! Questions of the day are: how did your month go? What was your biggest victory in December? What did you learn? What worked well? What will you change next time? If you need to, have a look back at your original goals for December. Thanks for being here, it’s been fun hosting! You can find the sign up for next month here if you haven't seen it already.
And for some accountability on the final day of the month...tell us how your day went and if you met your goals today too :)
I'll start:
-
In terms of happiness, December was MUCH better than November for me. I think my biggest victory has unexpectedly been getting lots of steps this month- I'm on course for it to the my 4th highest step month of the year. I really felt the effect on my mood. It's inspired me to focus on fitness more next year, in whatever limited capacity I can get away with given my back & knee problems.
-
In terms of my weight, I actually gained a bit of weight for a second month in a row, which wasn't ideal. So, my task next month is going to be to buckle down and work on eating at a deficit. I plan on addressing this by being disciplined about pre-logging my food, instead of doing it all at the end of the day and discovering I've gone way over. In the last week I've felt more in control, which is good.
-
This month I also decided to have weekly or daily goals. Weekly goals went well for the first week, then I didn't do much of anything the second week, then I switched to daily and that worked well. I might have monthly targets for Jan but still mix in some daily goals that I can change up as needed!
