I've eaten cake literally every day this week

Yeah. Not even sensible slices, but 'normal' slices of store-bought birthday cake. And so I don't completely ruin five weeks of hard work I thought fessing up to it might prevent it from happening again.

My housemate's birthday was on Tuesday, so I bought a very small cake knowing that I'm really weak around sweets and that a tiny cake split between myself, him, and his partner, would be fine - I'd even skipped breakfast so it wouldn't hurt my calories for that day. I felt really good about how I'd done, and it felt like progress that I could go out, spend a full day in bars and restaurants, and still be on track.

But then it turned out a colleague had given him a massive cake that he'd brought home. And his partner brought a massive cake and didn't want to take any back with them. And it's really easy to sit in the lounge after a shift with a coffee and a piece of cake and shoot the shit for a bit, so that's what's happened - every day since Tuesday. My housemate knows I'm dieting and wouldn't be offended if I said no, but I haven't. It was so easy to turn down chips or booze when we were out all day. But I didn't even think about saying no to the cake. I went to the gym Wednesday and Friday but I don't think that'll make a difference.

I've lost 15lbs in five weeks. This is week six, and I'm absolutely determined not to take how I feel now - shitty, guilty, unmotivated - over to week seven. If anyone's got any tips for avoiding this embarrassing collapse of willpower in the future, that'd be amazing, otherwise I'm just hopeful that putting all this out there will strengthen my resolve a bit.
